BRIEF HISTORY, BACKGROUND, UNDERTAKINGS, AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Toronto-based recording artist, Mili Soch, focuses on creating desi hip-hop music in Hinglish (Hindi + English). Ethnically, born in India, raised in Scarbrough, ON. Soon after receiving the “Most Promising Musical Artist of 2017” during ANOKHI’s 15th annual Award Show, Mili was in India as he was nominated for Hungama’s Artist Aloud Best International Artist 2018. Whilst in India, Mili had the opportunity to collab with other desi hip-hop artist as well as do performances at various venues. Mili recently released his debut album, Higher Soch, which is available in all major digital platforms.
WHAT FUTURE PROJECTS CAN THE COMMUNITY EXPECT FROM YOU?
After releasing my debut album in 2019, there’s a lot more in store for my fans such as the release of the music video for High Tides which features Xefer. I’m back in the studio working on my second album projected to release summer 2019.
WHAT DO YOU DO ON YOUR SPARE TIME? HOW DO YOU BALANCE IT WITH YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE?
I enjoy cooking and working out to release day-to-day stress. Being a songwriter and recording artist, I am usually listening to a lot of music from different genres to stay on top of my game during my spare time.
CAN YOU TALK ABOUT SOME OBSTACLES YOU FACED IN YOUR LIFE? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Being in the music industry from the age of 19 I was exposed to a lot of the business side of things which did not make sense then, and having gone through a few bad deals it encouraged me to go to school for music business. This was a setback as I wasn’t able to create and go to the studio I had to put my music on hold to learn the business.
WHO ARE YOUR HEROES? WHY?
First and foremost, God, for helping me through tough times and providing me with wisdom and courage. I consider Michael Jackson one of my heroes for his musical genius and the most successful entertainer of our times.
WHAT ARE YOUR ULTIMATE GOALS?
To be recognized for my music and being a household name globally.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A LEADER?
Focus, determination, patience and most importantly being a good human being.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU PROVIDE SOMEBODY WHO WANTS TO FOLLOW THE SAME PATH AS YOU?
Follow your passion despite limitations and surround yourself with those who see your vision.
