BRIEF HISTORY, BACKGROUND, UNDERTAKINGS, AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
After studying Communications and Broadcast Journalism, I went into film. I was lucky enough to work with Hollywood producers and learn production from a high level. I decided that the industry wasn’t fulfilling for me. I decided to go try my luck in corporate and hopped from Toyota to Microsoft. Learning the ins and outs of marketing and CRM development, I decided to start Amrev Media. Now that it’s been 3 years, I’ve had the freedom to build a strong brand and offer services to businesses at an enterprise level. I built my business on strategic partnerships, a strong offshore and onshore team. A lot of our development work gets done both locally and offshore, depending on the client and their budget. If both parties are satisfied, everyone wins. Amrev Media focuses on Marketing, Development (app and software) and IT solutions.
WHAT FUTURE PROJECTS CAN THE COMMUNITY EXPECT?
I have been lucky enough to launch a few of my own exciting apps. The most exciting app I am looking forward to launching is an AI driven meditation app. I can’t tell you much, but its the perfect project for me, to mix my spiritual self and my technology-focused business. I have also just partnered with American Express to bring my clients a whole new array of services that will allow a lot of ease and financial growth for my clients. I am also happy to share that we have expanded into offering IT solutions outside of the development side. We will now offer services around IT security, database analytics, architecture systems requirements analysis, firewall implementation- just to name a few of the new IT solutions. We’re just getting our feet wet, so it’s a time of a lot of growth and excitement.
WHAT DO YOU DO ON YOUR SPARE TIME? HOW DO YOU BALANCE IT WITH YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE?
I start every single day with meditation. That kick starts my day in a really positive day. I believe meditation plays a really big part in my attentiveness, ability to be present, my productivity, detachment from the emotional side of the business, etc. After I meditate, I write down my intentions, trying to remember to be as receptive as possible. I make a list of every element of my life that is important to me, and how I will do something in each realm to be balanced. Something like- work, health, mind, friends, family, knowledge, so I will make a list of what to do in each realm to remain balanced. I make sure I check in on different people every day, do something for my body, mind, call my parents, read. You get the idea! The gym is a huge part of my life, it allows me to take my need for instant gratification, and be rewarded instantly. I also make sure I hang out with my friends and family at least once a week. It’s easy to get caught up in the workload, but its most important to maintain loving relationships.
CAN YOU TALK ABOUT SOME OBSTACLES YOU FACED IN YOUR LIFE? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I think the biggest obstacle I faced was my own state of mind. Life is not easy, but I look at everything as a lesson, I don’t believe in the difficulty of things, but only the profession that each challenge causes. Only a few people in my world know the specifics of my challenges, but the specifics really don’t matter in the big picture. Everything can’t be viewed on a micro level, in order to speed up your growth and decrease the time of pain, it has to look at a micro level. I am a true believed in complete surrender where needed, and control where needed. Control is only in the mind, the external world is ever changing. On a professional level, I have faced many interesting challenges. Again, I hate for this to be the story I tell- but the struggle of being an entrepreneur is definitely something you have to be prepared for. There is ZERO stability, know that. There will be sleepless nights, there will be a lot of moments when you feel no one understands your journey, or how to deal with really unique challenges which are part of the rollercoaster. This is why self-help books and business books are a huge trend now, these books become our answers. With that, it is important to know, that there is always support around you when you need it most, it shows up in the most unique ways. Personally, I am blessed to have an amazing foundation and support system when needed.
WHO ARE YOUR HEROES? WHY?
Obviously, Beyonce. I am kidding, but not really. I do admire her work ethic. Honestly, my parents. They are the kindest people I have ever met, but they are so well balanced in understanding the world and business. Their hard working nature, constant ability to propel through challenges, be well balanced, maintain a happy life, be spiritual, be STRONG, while being very big risk takers in business. No better idols. Outside of my family- I’ll have to go with Manoj Bhargava, 5 Hour Energy. He is the definition of greatness and impact. To know why definitely watch Billions In Change.
WHAT ARE YOUR ULTIMATE GOALS?
The ultimate goal is of course happiness and all the things that fit into MY definition of happiness. I know I was put on this earth to create an impact. My experiences and journey have taught me that. I hope to be wealthy, impactful in my industry. I plan to work with organizations specifically related to women in third world countries and their struggle with education, physical hygiene, elevated thinking and overall impact. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to be happy.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A LEADER?
Patience and absolute clarity. You have to be someone who knows the needs of everyone around you while being detached. Whether it’s a client, an employee, your family member- you have to know what the needs are for them to feel their best. A good leader is also patient in knowing not everything is instant. You have to be an observer of behaviour to protect your team, your clients and your self. Through observation, you have absolute clarity on what works and doesn’t- allowing everyone around you to be clear. It’s absolutely essential for me to be detached from the emotional aspect of business and the reactions of others so we can all be focused. I really push a balanced life and the power of a strong mind to everyone around me. We accomplish what we think we’re capable of.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU PROVIDE SOMEBODY WHO WANTS TO FOLLOW THE SAME PATH AS YOU?
JUST DO IT! Be fearless. I know it sounds easier said than done, but once you take the leap, the hardest part is over. Fear is the part of us that holds us back from truly reaching our potential. Imagine if we all aimed for our potential- it would be a really different world, full of constant growth and change. I also recommend reading, reading, reading. You have to be knowledge driven and never ever stop learning if you want to be in business. Business, in general, is changing every day, let alone technology. I recommend dedicating a chunk of time daily to doing that so it becomes a habit. Be mindful of how you use your time- time is actually our lives.
ANY FINAL THOUGHTS?
Watch your mind for your weaknesses so you know exactly what you need to overcome. This guarantees constant progression and focus. Do what you love, money should not be the motive, but you should love what you do- I promise you, money just comes. If you found that as a statement that bothered you, it’s time to work on your relationship with money, the fear of spending, the lack of mentality, or the difficulty of it your mind may have trained its’ self into believing. #toodeep
